The historic charm was good, with comfortable accommodations and a lovely atmosphere. Staff were friendly, though some service issues and cleanliness seemed to need attention. Breakfast was great, but the dining experience wasn't flawless, especially during busy periods.

Comfortable bed, friendly staff. Good breakfast.
We do not understand why the room was not checked before we entered. There was a mirror on the bed and other things were out of place. A lady came at 4.30 pm to service the room and carried out an excellant job. I filled in a questionnare at the hotel so why has this been sent ? We booked because we thought you were participating with the Mail offer.

It was just a proper fit for a fleeting trip in Stamford with real value for money. The breakfast with perfectly poached eggs was great. Just make sure to check out the breakfast timing to avoid rush.

Very convenient for Burghley House and the town centre
Irritating music in the dining room. We prefer no music of any kind.
